Sustainability and the environment
Losby Gods is set in the scenic surroundings of Losbydalen – embraced by forest, cultivated landscapes and a living historical environment. The land around us has been managed for generations, through sawmills, agriculture and today also golf courses – always in harmony with nature.
With this location and heritage comes responsibility. Our ambition is to excel at taking care of – the history, the experiences, the people, the estate and the surrounding nature. To us, sustainability is about holistic stewardship: preserving what exists while developing the estate with respect for the future.
We are certified as an Eco-Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn) and continuously work to strengthen our environmental efforts. Our commitment to sustainability is anchored in our board, management and employees, and forms a natural part of our company culture.
Waste sorting and the reduction of food waste are central elements of our daily operations. We work systematically with procurement, production and service to reduce our overall footprint. In collaboration with our suppliers, we set clear requirements for quality, responsibility and environmental consideration.
On the estate, we maintain our own kitchen garden where we grow herbs, rhubarb and edible flowers – a small but meaningful contribution to local flavours and seasonal cuisine.
We encourage both employees and guests to make environmentally conscious choices, whether related to transport, energy use or consumption. At the same time, we continuously implement improvements to further strengthen our environmental profile.
Losby Gods is also an active part of the local community. We support local clubs and associations and cooperate with NAV to promote an inclusive working life. Our culture is built on respect, recognition, professionalism and sound common sense.
